Med Sailing Adventure

This year Night Image will carry on cruising in Turkey and possibly Greece. Due to permanent jobs and short holiday schedules we will not be taking on crew. Sorry guys.

2009 site content

Are you thinking of going on a sailing cruising adventure in the Mediterranean this summer 2009? Then why not join us on a cost-sharing basis, onboard our sailing yacht Night Image (a Verl Hustler 33). We are a young and fun couple currently looking for sailing companions/crew who will be happy to take part in our voyage for any length of time or part of the trip, starting from June and ending in mid-September.

Where? When?

A short sail from the Ionian (where Night Image is now docked), through the Corinth canal, will take us into the Greek Aegean sea ready for a new Med cruising experience.

This year the adventure officially starts around the 10th of June from Skiathos, one the Greek Sporades Islands of the Aegean. From here we will head east to Ayvalik, on the North coast of Turkey, hopping from island to island across the Aegean sea. From Ayvalik will be cruising south following the idyllic and unspoilt Turkish coastline until we reach Marmaris (south Turkey) in mid September. More info on the 2009 route.

Who?

Whether you are:

-        new to sailing but intrigued by it

-        already an experienced seadog

-        Or looking to gain sea miles for your RYA certificates or just keen to learn more about sailing. (there is plenty of opportunity for learning and practising navigation, sail handling, and seamanship).

-         maybe just looking for a relaxing break from the hectic world on land

-        a backpacker or traveller looking for good company and some adventure

………….whatever your interests, age and sex, if you think you can handle the sun, the sea, good food and good fun just drop us an email at thegreatescapes@gmail.com

We don’t expect you to be an experienced sailor neither do we expect you to "work hard" but we do expect crew  to keep the boat fairly tidy, pay their share of contributions towards the expenses and have a positive and flexible attitude to life and people. A normal day for the crew consists in doing sail changes, steering, navigation, help in mooring and anchoring, fishing, lots and lots of swimming, chilling and baking in the sun. We love to see people getting involved but also we love to see people relaxing. After all this is a holiday for all!
